Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that news yesterday about Girl Scouts selling cookies online does not apply to the Girl Scouts of Central Texas, the council announced today.
From a spokeswoman: “GSCTX will still be participating in traditional booth and door-to-door sales of Girl Scout Cookies this cookie season, and hungry cookie customers will still be able to buy all their favorite treats in the usual varieties from Girl Scouts in their communities. GSCTX will evaluate phase one of the Digital Cookie platform at the end of the current cookie season and make a decision about its implementation in our council for the 2015–2016 cookie season.”
The local Girl Scout groups can participate in a Cookie Club program, an “online platform to send out eGrams without accepting payment for their Cookie Sales.” I’m not exactly sure what that means, but I’ll find out and update this post. Sales start on January 21.
