Austin360Eats: Doughnut madness at Gourdough’s, Master Donuts

Mary Makes Dinner blogger Mary Helen Leonard doesn’t always make dinner.

As @marymakesgood on Instagram, she often posts photos of the food she makes at home, but when she heads out to eat at a restaurant, her phone is just as ready to capture the moment. Earlier this week, she was at Gourdough’s Public House, 2700 S. Lamar Blvd., for one of their doughnut burgers and homemade potato chips. (The restaurant is constructing its second brick-and-mortar location downtown that will open later this year; Leonard has her own project publishing this year: a book on DIY beauty and skincare products.)

In other crazy doughnut eats, Edward Guevara (@cubanbdylan) showed us that Master Donuts, 6100 E. Riverside Drive, knows how to play with its food. The local musician posted a photo of his Fruity Pebbles-topped pastry, called the Yabba Dabba.
