This week’s #Austin360Eats theme seemed to be all about the classics: a cold cut sandwich at St. Philip and pulled pork sandwich from Smokey Denmark’s, tacos from Las Trancas, fried chicken with biscuits and gravy from Mettle and, from the 64-year-old Nau’s Enfield Drug, a cheeseburger and Zappo chips, as well as their quintessential Dr Pepper float.
Our featured photos are of hard-to-beat Austin classics. Instagrammer @austinfoodforthought captured the nighttime beauty of the neon sign at Sandy’s Frozen Custard, which rivals the chocolate-topped custard in hand.
Austinite Jennifer Pierce, who blogs at jenniferpiercehealth.com and posts to Instagram as @jenniferpiercehealth, posted a photo of her breakfast tacos, chips and salsa from El Alma that looks as bright as the Sunday morning sunshine that fueled her trail hike.
We’d love to see photos of what you consider to be Austin food classics! Just add the #Austin360Eats hashtag to your posts on social media, and we’ll add them to our latest Storify gallery:
