Blue Bell cleared to resume ice cream production in Alabama

Public health officials in Alabama announced today that Blue Bell could start making ice cream for public consumption at the facility in Sylacauga, Ala.

A spokeswoman for the Brenham-based Blue Bell confirmed that production is already underway at the Alabama facility to help build up inventory but that they company did not have an estimation of when the ice cream would be available for sale.

The Brenham facility will likely be the last plant to re-open, the rep said.
