Gloriana Guerra Koll and Keesha Waits met at culinary school, but it took them having kids and switching to a grain-free diet for them to decide to start Kitch, a snack company specializing in no-grain granola.

The Cedar Park-based business sells grain-free, gluten-free, soy-free and dairy-free granolas in three flavors: Holy-Coco-Cacao, When Honey Met Maple and You’re the Apple of My Chai. They also have a summer peach flavor available online at kitchlife.com.

So, what’s granola without oats? Even though you can buy gluten-free oats, Koll and Waits make their granolas with raw nuts, seeds and dried fruits tossed with natural sweeteners and spices. In addition to eating granola in a more traditional way, with milk or yogurt at breakfast, the bakers suggest using it as a topping on salads or sweet potatoes.

You can buy the granola — about $9 for an 8 oz. bag, but you can also buy smaller sizes online — at Juiceland, Daily Juice Cafe and the Lakeline and Mueller farmers markets.
