Dinner Lab, the company that hosts restaurant pop-ups in cities across the country, has teamed up with Phaidon Press for a dinner-series book tour with “The Nordic Cookbook” author Magnus Nilsson that will come through Austin later this month.
Nilsson’s book is one of a slew about Scandinavia and the general Nordic quadrant to come out this year. On Nov. 18, he’ll be on hand for a dinner in Austin at an undisclosed location. The five-course dinner will be prepared by fellow Nordic chefs cooking in the United States right now — at the Austin stop, that’s Icelandic chef Gísli Matthías Audunsson. Nilsson, who is the head chef of Fäviken Magasinet restaurant in Sweden, will be on hand to talk about the history and diversity of the region’s cuisine.
Tickets cost $175 and include a signed copy of “The Nordic Cookbook” (Phaidon, $49.95), a tome of a book with more than 700 recipes from countries including Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. To buy tickets, go to dinnerlab.com/nordiccookbooktour.
