Edible Austin announced the schedule for its ninth annual Eat Drink Local Week, taking place Nov. 28-Dec. 5 at various locations around Austin. The events this year will raise money for Mobile Loaves & Fishes and its Community First housing project.
At 6 p.m. on Nov. 29, Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge, aka the Beekman Boys,
will appear at the Paramount Theatre for what will surely be an entertaining talk about their life as city-dwellers-turned-farmers in upstate New York. Tickets cost $30 for general admission and $100 for VIP, which includes a reception from 6 to 7 p.m. where you can meet the speakers and enjoy tastings from Hoover’s Cooking, Lenoir, Café Josie, Barlata Tapas Bar and Edis Chocolates with drinks by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Barcelona Cellers wines. The show will be followed by a pop-up artisan farmers market in the lobby of the theater featuring Beekman 1802 farm products, Cowgirl Brands olive oils, Swede Farm dairy delights, Texas Farmers Market vendors and more. For tickets, go to austintheatre.org or call 512-474-1221.
Bread & Circu
s Supper Club will host a dinner at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3 featuring an all-local, seasonal feast served family style. Cocktails, wine and beer will be available for purchase at the cash bar. Tickets cost $55 and can be purchased at edibleaustin.com/eatdrinklocal.
In partnership with Mobile Loaves & Fishes, Eat Drink Local Week will swing through the Community First
Village for the community’s tree lighting ceremony, starting at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 5. As part of this year’s event, Edible Austin is helping raise money to build an outdoor kitchen at the Community First Village. You can find out more about that campaign on the Edible Austin website.
