WATCH: Taste testing vegan Cheddar cheese, breakfast pies

Vegan cheese hasn’t been on my shopping list, well, because I’m not a vegan and can eat regular cheese. (Thank the dairy gods.)

However, when I was in Whole Foods earlier this week, I saw an aged vegan cheese whose packaging seemed to indicate that it might taste like Cheddar. I couldn’t resist putting Miyoko’s Artisan Cheese in this week’s Facebook livestream.

I also tried some new breakfast pies from the Austin-based Boomerang’s and some blue corn chips. Let’s be honest, I knew what those blue corn chips were going to taste like. I was just craving them.

Each Wednesday around midday on the Austin360 Facebook page, I do a livestream video — usually at my desk — to taste test new products and talk about what’s going on on my beat.
