A few years ago, I told you about the Texas Association of Vietnam Veterans, which gives away more than 150 fried turkeys every year, mostly to veterans in local hospitals and care facilities.
It was one of those stories I’ll never forget, so I’m happy to pass along the updated information about how to order their fried turkeys this year.
To fund their donation turkey effort, they sell fried turkeys to the general public, but you have to get in your orders by the end of next week (or Monday, Nov. 21 at the latest) for pickup Nov. 23.
The Cajun-seasoned turkeys cost $45 each and can be ordered by calling 512-567-6859 or emailing eeray26@gmail.com.
Customers can pick up their birds at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at the VFW Post 856, 406 E. Alpine St.
